PERFORMANCE COUNTS

A Priest dies and is waiting in line at the Pearly Gates.

Ahead of him is a guy who's dressed in sunglasses, a loud shirt, leather jacket and jeans.

Saint Peter addresses him, "Who are you, so that I may know whether or not to admit you into the Kingdom of Heaven ?"

The guy replies, "I'm Joe Cohen, taxi driver, from New York ."

Saint Peter consults his list. He smiles and says to the taxi driver,
"Take this silken robe and golden staff and enter the Kingdom of Heaven ."

Now it's the priest's turn. He stands erect and booms out, "I am the Right Reverend Joseph Snow, pastor of Saint Mary's for the last forty-three years."

Saint Peter consults his list. He says to the priest,
"Take this cotton robe and wooden staff and enter the Kingdom of Heaven ."

"Just a minute," says the priest.

"That man was a taxi driver. Why does he get a silken robe and golden staff?"

"Results," shrugged Saint Peter....... ....

"While you preached, people slept. When he drove, people prayed."

DO NOT COPY IF YOU CANNOT ....................

This happenedduring a training programme for top management.

A well-known motivational speaker gathering the entire crowd's attention, said,"The best years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who wasn't my wife !"

The crowd was shocked!

He followed up by saying, "That woman was my mother!"

The crowd burst into laughter and he gave his speech, which was well received.

.....

About a week later, one of the top managers who had the training decided to use that joke at his house. He tried to rehearse the joke in his head. It was a bit foggy to him.

He said loudly, "The greatest years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who was not my wife!"

Naturally, his wife was shell shocked, murmuring.

After standing there for almost 10 seconds trying to recall the second half of the joke, the managerfinally blurted out " ... and I can't remember who she was !"

As expected, he got thrashing of his life time....

PRESENCE OF MIND - LOOKING THE OTHER WAY

Once lived a king who owned a valuable diamond, one of the rarest and most perfect in the world. One day the diamond fell and a deep scratch marred its face.

The king summoned the best diamond experts in the land to correct the blemish, but they all agreed they could not remove the scratch without cutting away a good part of the surface, thus reducing the weight and value of the diamond.

Finally one expert appeared and assured him that he could fix the diamond without reducing its value. His confidence was convincing and the king gave the diamond to the man.

In a few days, the artisan returned the diamond to the king, who was amazed to find that the ugly scratch was gone, and in its place a beautiful rose was etched. The former scratch had become part of an exquisite flower!

DESTINY

What we are today is result of our own past actions;

Whatever we wish to be in future depends on our present actions;

Decide how you have to act now.

We are responsible for what we are, whatever we wish ourselves to be.

We have the power to make ourselves.

EXCELLENCE - A DRIVE FROM INSIDE

A gentleman was once visiting a temple under construction.

In the temple premises, he saw a sculptor making an idol of God.

Suddenly he saw, just a few meters away, another identical idol was lying.

Surprised he asked the sculptor " Do you need two statutes of the same idol ?"

"No" said the sculptor.

"We need only one, but the first one got damaged at the last stage. "

The gentleman examined the sculptor. No apparent damage was visible.

" Where is the damage ? "

"There is a scratch on the nose of the idol " replied the sculptor .

" Where are you going to keep the idol ? " asked the gentleman.

The sculptor replied that it will be installed on a pedestal of 38 feet high.

"When the idol will be 38 feet away from the eyes of the beholder, who is going to know that there is scratch on the nose ? " the gentleman asked.

The sculptor looked at the gentleman, smiled and said " The God knows it and I know it ".

The desire to excel should be exclusive of the fact whether someone appreciates it or not.

Excellence is a drive from " Inside " not " Outside".

YOU ARE

You Are

You are strong... when you take your grief and teach it to smile.

You are brave... when you overcome your fear and help others to do the same.

You are happy... when you see a flower and are thankful for the blessing.

You are loving... when your own pain does not blind you to the pain of others.

You are wise... when you know the limits of your wisdom.

You are true... when you admit there are times you fool yourself.

You are alive... when tomorrow's hope means more to you than yesterday's mistake.

You are growing... when you know what you are but not what you will become.

You are free... when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to control others.

You are honorable... when you find your honor is to honor others.

You are generous... when you can take as sweetly as you can give.

You are humble... when you do not know how humble you are.

You are thoughtful... when you see me just as I am and treat me just as you are.

You are merciful... when you forgive in others the faults you condemn in yourself.

You are beautiful... when you don't need a mirror to tell you.

You are rich... when you never need more than what you have.

You are you... when you are at peace with who you are not.
